De Boerderij

De Boerderij, located at Liergouw 78A in Amsterdam-Noord, is a welcoming out-of-school care (BSO) facility that is part of the VAK network (United Agricultural Childcare). We provide after-school care for up to 16 primary school children aged 4 to 12. Our opening hours are aligned with local school schedules: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 14:00 to 18:30, Wednesday from 12:30 to 18:30 and Friday from 12:15 to 18:30. During school holidays and study days we welcome children from 07:30 onwards. What makes De Boerderij truly special is its unique rural setting right in the city. From our spacious group room, children have direct views of meadows with cows, sheep, goats and rabbits. Every day we involve the animals in our activities – feeding, caring for or simply petting them. We also have a large green outdoor area with climbing equipment, a sandbox and plenty of space for cycling and playing. This natural play environment stimulates children's imagination and self-confidence. Our pedagogical team consists of experienced, qualified childcare professionals, all certified in pediatric first aid. We follow the VAK methodology, based on the principles of Reggio Emilia, Emmi Pikler and nature-based learning. We provide a warm and safe environment where children can develop through playful discovery, creative activities and sports challenges. Activities include crafting with natural materials, gardening in our vegetable patch, sports and games, and regular trips to the petting farm or forest. We provide daily healthy lunches and fresh fruit for the children. We work closely with nearby primary schools and collect children after school.
