De Ballebende Hurwenen

Welcome to BSO De Ballebende Hurwenen, part of De Balledotjes B.V. We are located at a unique venue: the sports complex at Groenestraat 41 in Hurwenen. This gives us access to extensive sports fields and a large outdoor area of 1,000 m². Our after-school care offers small-scale childcare for up to 33 children aged 4 to 13, organized in one fixed base group with two permanent pedagogical staff members. Sports, play and movement are central to our approach. We use sports not only to support children's physical development, but also to foster social and personal skills such as cooperation, respect and conflict resolution. We regularly offer workshops and excursions, especially during school holidays. We also organize nature and discovery activities to raise children's awareness of their environment and introduce them to various sports and games. We value a safe and familiar environment. Each child has a fixed mentor who is the first point of contact for parents and maintains the child’s development record. Parents are actively involved through our parent portal and there is time for a short handover conversation every day at pick-up. For those who need more time, a 10-minute meeting can be scheduled. Our location is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We operate a flexible pick-up schedule: children can be collected in Hurwenen between 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM, and until 6:00 PM in Rossum. We believe children should spend plenty of time outdoors and follow the principle: “There is no bad weather, only bad clothing.” Therefore, every child has a personal outdoor bag with clothing and boots ready.
