BSO de Ark

BSO De Ark is part of Integral Child Centre De Ark, located at Nozemanstraat 16b in Rotterdam-Delfshaven. We share the same building as the primary school, so children can stay in their familiar surroundings after the school day ends. Our qualified pedagogical staff collect the children from their classrooms and guide them to the BSO areas, giving parents peace of mind while they work or study. At BSO De Ark the child is always at the centre. We offer a wide and varied programme of activities tailored to the world and interests of children aged 4 to 12. Children can enjoy outdoor play on the spacious schoolyard, conduct hands-on science experiments in our discovery corner, play football or basketball, join a dance workshop, or bake cookies together in the kitchen. We also run regular themed weeks and workshops focused on nature, sports, creativity and culture. Excursions to nearby parks, playgrounds and cultural venues are part of the fun. Our pedagogical professionals listen carefully to what the children enjoy and involve them in planning the programme. This results in activities that truly match their curiosity and talents. We believe it is important for children to have room to be themselves, build friendships and practise independence and cooperation. During school holidays we run BSO Holiday Land: a festive and challenging programme with themes such as ‘Expedition Robinson’, ‘Circus’ or ‘Science Lab’, open from 07:30 to 18:30. Parent involvement is a matter of course for us. We regularly share photos and stories through our parent communication channels and invite parents to contribute ideas or join excursions. Together we ensure that BSO De Ark remains a safe, homely place where children love to come.
