Welcome to Coffee+Kids After-School Care on IJburglaan 1359 in Amsterdam! We are a warm, small-scale out-of-school care facility where a maximum of 12 children per day play, create and discover with two qualified staff members. We pick the children up after school from Willibrord and Laterna Magica primary schools and bring them to our cosy location. When the weather is nice we first head to the playground to run around and let off steam. The children then receive a sandwich and drink. In our creative room they can choose to take part in a workshop such as painting, clay work, theatre, sewing or yoga – nothing is compulsory, everything is optional. Around 5 p.m. they get another healthy snack such as fruit or vegetables, after which there is free play time. During school holidays and study days you bring your child yourself and we enjoy excursions, crafts, outdoor play and a full day programme including lunch. Our pedagogical vision is that after-school care is the third living and learning environment, alongside home and school. We therefore tailor our approach to what you as parents find important and give every child space to make their own choices. We believe in small groups, personal attention and lots of time outdoors. All our activities revolve around fun, creativity and strengthening each child’s individuality.
