Christoforus Almelo

BSO Olmenbos is part of Christoforus Kinderopvang and is located on the grounds of De Vrije School Almelo at Biesterweg 6 in Almelo. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 13 in a calm, anthroposophically inspired environment. Our location is small-scale and homely. We have space for up to 35 children, allowing us to give each child personal attention. The groups are structured horizontally, with children grouped by age, creating familiarity and safety. Free play is central to our care. Children can choose from a wide range of play materials. We use many natural and sustainable materials such as wooden blocks, fabric dolls and a wooden playhouse. There are building sets, puzzles, dress-up clothes and board games. Creative children will find craft, drawing, painting and woodworking materials ready for use. Outdoors, we use the natural playground of De Vrije School Almelo. Children can play with hammocks, go-karts, balls and inline skates. We encourage outdoor play and nature experience. Moving in the fresh air and discovering the seasons are part of our daily practice. Our opening hours align with school holidays and school times. During school weeks we are open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 14:15 to 18:00 and Wednesday from 13:00 to 18:00. During holidays we welcome children from 8:30 to 18:00, Monday through Friday. We work according to the anthroposophical vision of Christoforus Kinderopvang. Calm, rhythm and attention to the child are central. Our pedagogical staff provide a safe and loving environment in which children can develop themselves. We believe in the power of learning through play and respect the individuality of each child.
