BSO Regenboog

BSO Regenboog is part of IRIS Christelijke Kindcentra and is located on the same premises as CBS De Regenboog at Westenbergstraat 28 in Wilsum. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 in a small-scale, homely environment. The group has a maximum capacity of 22 children, ensuring every child receives personal attention and the atmosphere remains warm and familiar. Currently, our BSO is open on Mondays and Tuesdays during school weeks, from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM. During school holidays the location is closed, but children can – subject to sufficient enrolment – join other IRIS locations in the region. We are also exploring the possibility of extending our opening days to Wednesday, Thursday or Friday if there is enough demand. As soon as school ends, the children walk straight from their classroom to our space. We always start with a shared moment: chatting together while enjoying a snack and something to drink. Afterwards, each child decides how to spend the afternoon. One day that might be running around and playing football in the schoolyard, another day it could be curling up with a book, doing crafts, baking cookies or taking part in a sports or games activity. For our activity programme we use DoenKids: a digital database full of fun, challenging and varied activities built around current themes such as ‘Heroes’, ‘Spooky Fun’ or ‘Tasty Adventures’. The children are invited to help shape the programme and choose what they feel like doing. We believe it is important that children feel at home here and that the BSO is a place where they can simply be themselves after school.
