BSO Chapeau Varik

BSO Chapeau Varik has been located in a classroom of the public primary school De Burgemeester Westerbeek van Eertenschool at Walgtsestraat 26 in Varik since 1 September 2014. We provide after-school care for up to 20 children aged 4 to 12. At the moment 23 children are enrolled and attend on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 14:00 to 18:00. Our room is arranged into different corners: a car corner, a dolls’ corner, a table for board games and a creative corner with plenty of materials. We believe outdoor play is very important. Thanks to our location inside the school building, children can use a large playground with a ball cage, sandpit, climbing equipment and an extensive grass field. Even in less favourable weather we organise outdoor activities so children can release their energy after a busy school day. We also accompany children who wish to go to a sports club after BSO, such as tennis or gym. We work with recognisable themes and actively involve the children in planning activities. In addition, we love celebrations: besides birthdays we celebrate Halloween, Christmas and Easter extensively and keep inventing new festive moments. For every holiday we compile an activity programme that is shared with parents well in advance. Parents regularly receive a photo of their child via WhatsApp so they can share in the fun moments at BSO. The familiar faces at BSO Chapeau Varik are Willemien and Connie.
