BSO Bunderbende

BSO Bunderbende is located inside the ‘brede school’ De Bunders at Frans Halsstraat 28 in Oisterwijk. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12, both after the school day and during school holidays. Our team supervises up to 53 children per day and works closely with the school to ensure a smooth transition from classroom to after-school activities. Children can choose free play or join a varied activity programme. Outdoor play and movement are part of every day; we open the door to the outside world daily. Activities include arts and crafts, puzzles, table football, building with Lego and K’nex, and cooking together. Whenever possible we let the children co-create the programme so that it matches their interests and developmental needs. Our pedagogical staff use a flexible group structure: depending on the number of children and the space available we work with vertical groups (ages 4–13) or horizontal age groups (4–7/8 and 7/8–13). In every case we tailor the offer to the different age ranges. We personally pick up the youngest children from school; older children walk or cycle. When the school is more than 15–20 minutes’ walk away we can arrange transport by car, minibus or taxi if necessary. We also provide care on teacher training days and professional development days. Exact dates and arrangements are published at the start of the school year in consultation with the schools. This may mean opening at an alternative location or temporarily placing very young children at a nearby day-care centre. Thanks to our many years of experience and the combination of day-care and after-school care under one roof, we can switch smoothly and maintain continuity of care.
