After-school care Duck Club is located in the broad-school building at Louis Davidscarré 1 in Zandvoort. We provide care for up to 100 children aged 4 to 12, divided across five base groups. Our location is open Monday to Friday from the moment school ends until 6:00 PM. During school holidays and study days we welcome children from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Duck Club works closely with the primary schools in the immediate area, so that children can come to us safely and familiarly after school. The building we are located in is shared with day-care centre Ducky Duck and toddler care from the same parent organisation, creating a continuous and familiar environment for children aged 0 to 12. Safety and health are high on our list of priorities. Every year we have all outdoor play equipment inspected by a certified body and we keep a logbook of inspections and maintenance. There are no lead pipes present and the drinking water is therefore safe. Each group has an up-to-date risk assessment and we practise an evacuation at least once a year. At least one pedagogical staff member on duty holds a valid certificate in ‘First aid for children’. Our pedagogical policy plan describes in concrete terms how we work per group, the maximum group sizes and age composition we use, and how we optimally support each child’s development with the right staffing levels. We address children in a sensitive and responsive manner, provide structure and boundaries, and playfully stimulate motor, cognitive, language and creative development. In addition, we guide children in social interactions and teach them to become acquainted with generally accepted values and norms in an open way. In short: BSO Duck Club offers a safe, familiar and stimulating place where children can relax, play and develop after school under professional guidance.
