Buitenschoolse opvang De Schatgraver

At BSO De Schatgraver in Landgraaf children feel at home right away. We are located in the same building as primary school De Schatgraver, so after school the children only need to walk down the hallway. Children who attend the satellite location are picked up by one of our pedagogical staff. Our after-school care welcomes children from 4 to 13 years old, both during school weeks and during holidays. Every afternoon starts with a healthy snack: fruit, seasonal vegetables, water or tea. On Wednesdays we share an extra-healthy bread meal with lean toppings such as hummus or fruit spread. Afterwards the children decide for themselves what they want to do. We run dance, music, art and cooking workshops, using the children’s kitchen of the Healthy Primary School. In the gym they can exercise and romp around, and outside there is a versatile playground. We value children’s participation. Each location has a child-councillor who helps think about the monthly activity programme. Together we decide which outings or projects we will do. We also focus on social skills and teach children to play independently and to cooperate. During school weeks we are open from 07:00 – 08:30 and from 15:30 (Wednesday 12:30) to 18:30. In the holidays we start at 07:00 and close at 18:30. We communicate with parents through the Konnect app and take plenty of time for hand-over during drop-off and pick-up, so everyone stays informed about the day’s adventures.
