Buitengewoon

BSO Buitengewoon is located at Vliestroom 204 in Alphen aan den Rijn, in the same building as primary school Vivace. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 13. Before school we start the day with a shared breakfast; afterwards the children play until it is time to go to class. After school the children choose during our table moment what they would like to do that day. We love to play outside on the yard, cook in our own kitchen with fresh ingredients, paint, do sports in the gym, dress up or craft. At Buitengewoon we work with five groups. Two of these groups are specially designed for children from the Alphen Montessori School; these rooms have been set up together with the Dutch Montessori training according to the Montessori vision. The remaining groups are mixed in age and school background, allowing children from different schools to meet and play together. Our pedagogical staff pick up children on foot from schools within walking distance. For schools further away we use our own (bike) buses or arrange transport with a taxi company. We work closely with the schools to arrange pick-up points and safety. During holidays we offer holiday care from 07:30 to 18:30, and parents can flexibly book extra days. At Buitengewoon we believe it is important that children feel safe and challenged. We offer a warm, homely atmosphere in which every child can be themselves and discover what they are good at. Our spaces are colourful and inviting, with plenty of materials to get creative with. The kitchen is a highlight: here children not only learn to prepare healthy recipes, but also to cooperate and take responsibility. The outdoor space invites movement, discovery and play with natural materials. Parents can easily request extra days or communicate changes through our parent portal.
