Buitenbengels Surhuisterveen

Buitenbengels Surhuisterveen is our after-school care location at De Merel 12 in Surhuisterveen. We provide before-school, after-school and holiday care for up to 22 children aged 4 to 12. After lessons end, pupils can walk straight from the classroom of De Bernebrege primary school into our welcoming, purpose-designed space. We collect children from De Parel, De Kloostertuin, Het Krijt, Het Sterrenschip and OBS Kloosterveen. Our BSO is an extension of parenting: a safe, warm place where children feel secure and, through play, grow in independence. We encourage them to share their own ideas and invite them to help decide what works well and what could be improved. Outdoor play is at the heart of our programme. We believe children should be able to roam and discover new skills in nature. During holidays we run an extensive activity schedule that sometimes takes us off-site on exciting excursions. Activities are always tailored to age and interest—ranging from crafts and sports to creative projects—so every child finds something to enjoy.
