BSO Buitenbende Op Stoom

Welcome to BSO Buitenbende Op Stoom, located at Bergweg 66 in Bloemendaal. Our adventurous after-school club sits right on the edge of the forest and the Kennemer dunes – the perfect playground for budding scouts. At Buitenbende we rarely stay indoors. We hoist our own Buitenbende flag, learn to navigate by the sun, make fire without a lighter and build – then capture – forts. We also master knots like the bowline and the double sheet bend, because real scouts can always save the day with a piece of rope. We brew nettle soup and bake bread over a campfire. Together we promise: friendly, honest and caring for nature – that is our scout law. Our qualified pedagogical staff guide up to 40 children aged 4 to 12. We work closely with local schools and provide not only after-school care but also before-school care (VSO) and holiday care. This means our hours fit seamlessly around school times and children are always welcome, even on study days or school holidays. At Buitenbende independence, teamwork and respect for nature are key. We are proud of our ‘Club van Op Stoom’ where children don’t just play, but learn real scouting skills.
