Buiten BSO De Oosterwaarde

Buiten BSO De Oosterwaarde is a small-scale after-school care facility located on the grounds of the biodynamic farm De Oosterwaarde at Sallandsweg 6 in Diepenveen. We provide a safe outdoor environment for up to 20 school-age children aged 4 to 12 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Our BSO has been registered in the National Childcare Register since July 9, 2018 under number 295079344 and is supervised by GGD IJsselland. We pick up children from the Free School, Deventer Leerschool and both primary schools in Diepenveen. Children are safely transported from school to the farm by our own pickup service. Outdoor play is central to our approach. Children build huts, grow their own vegetables in our garden, catch frogs and salamanders in the ditch, work with wood, relax in hammocks and play games. Together we make witches' soup and herbal tea from our own herbs. We experience the seasons intensely: in autumn we collect and roast chestnuts over the fire, in winter we sled down the dike, in spring we search for frogspawn in the ditches, and in summer we taste the first strawberries straight from the land. Our location is situated on a 14-hectare organic farm where over 50 types of vegetables are grown. Children not only learn how vegetables grow but also help with planting, caring for and harvesting crops. We have our own vegetable garden where each group has their own space to experiment with vegetables and herbs. The pedagogical staff at Buiten BSO De Oosterwaarde specialize in outdoor education and nature-based learning. We work with small groups, ensuring personal attention for each child. Our approach is playful and adventurous, stimulating children's curiosity while teaching them to interact respectfully with nature.
