BSO Wegwijzer

BSO Wegwijzer is located in the same bright and spacious building as Montessori primary school De Wegwijzer at Winde 37 in the Cellesbroek district of Kampen. We provide after-school care for up to 11 children aged 4 to 13. As part of IRIS Opvang, we work closely with the school every day so that children can move seamlessly to a familiar place after school or before school starts. Our qualified staff are ready every weekday to welcome the children. During pre-school care we start at 7:30 a.m. and make sure the children are in their classroom by 8:30 a.m. After school we pick the children up and provide after-school care until 6:00 p.m., including on study days and during school holidays. The BSO is therefore open all year round. We believe it is important that children can relax after a busy school day and follow their own interests. Our activities are tailored to the age and world of experience of each child. Children can choose quiet play, such as making bracelets or playing games, but also creative or active activities. We offer space to play, discover and learn new things. The indoor area is safe and homely and adjoins an outdoor playground where children can run, romp or simply enjoy the fresh air to their heart’s content. Our approach is based on respect for each child’s autonomy. We provide structure and clear agreements so that children feel emotionally safe. At the same time, we stimulate their personal and social competences by challenging them in a playful way. We involve children in practical tasks such as tidying up and setting things up, teaching them to work together and take responsibility. Each group has a permanent mentor who is the point of contact for child and parent and, if necessary, discusses the child’s development. In short, at BSO Wegwijzer, fun and well-being come first. We offer a safe, homely environment in which children can develop at their own pace and in their own way.
