BSO Van Harte

BSO Van Harte is located inside the Integral Child Centre (IKC) Van Harte in the heart of Houten’s Old Village, at the same address as primary school Van Harte: Loerikseweg 11a. We provide small-scale after-school care for up to 40 children aged 4 to 12, divided into two base groups. Our rooms are part of the school building itself: we use the central hall and the toddler group room. The central hall is cosily furnished with construction materials, board games, arts-and-crafts and technology supplies, a building and home corner, and a chill corner where children can relax with a book. Outdoors, children can enjoy the large school playground with various play equipment and outdoor toys. In addition, we have a playroom for sports and games. Our activities are varied and challenging: we cook together, do sports, make excursions during school holidays to fun places in the neighbourhood, and offer activities in theatre, music, technology and creativity. We regularly coordinate with the teachers and management of Van Harte School so that we align well with what the children have experienced during the day. We work according to the Pedagogical Heart of Kind&co ludens. This means we give children the space to feel comfortable, have fun, grow and discover. We provide a rich environment where play, discovery and learning come together. Together we form a mini-society: we care for each other and the world around us. Our pedagogical staff are ready with lots of individual attention and focus on the development of every child.
