To Be Kind, Locatie Kroonkruid - BSO

BSO Het Kroonkruid is part of To Be Kind, a Christian childcare organization that has been providing loving care to children aged 0 to 13 in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel and surrounding areas for over ten years. Our after-school care location at Kroonkruid is specially designed for school-going children aged 4 to 13. We are located right next to primary school De Wingerd, allowing children who attend this school to simply walk in after classes. In addition, we pick up children from De Wingerd with our BSO bus. At our location, your child decides what they want to do. After an intensive school day, they can relax in our cozy indoor spaces with comfortable corners for reading, drawing or playing games. We have an extensive arts and crafts area where children can let their creativity run free. We regularly cook together with the children, where they learn to work with healthy ingredients and discover new flavors. Our large outdoor area invites play and movement. There is a slide, climbing frame and sandbox, plus plenty of play materials like balls, jump ropes and sidewalk chalk. Every day we take the children outside, as we believe outdoor play is important for their development. In less favorable weather, we use the school's gymnasium for sports activities such as dodgeball, hockey and capture the flag. We provide a stable environment with permanent pedagogical staff who give your child personal attention. Our Christian identity is reflected in the way we interact with each other: respectful, loving and with attention to every child. We believe it's important that children feel safe and valued, so they enjoy coming to the after-school care. For snacks we serve fruit and a cracker with toppings, plus water and tea. At lunch, children receive fiber-rich bread with something savory and sweet, and milk. For children with allergies, we have suitable alternatives. Parents may also choose to provide their own allergy-free food. Our opening hours are from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. After-school care children are picked up from 2:00 PM onwards, depending on school hours. During holidays and study days, children can stay with us all day from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
