BSO 't Klimrek

Welcome to BSO 't Klimrek, our welcoming after-school care located right inside Ichthusschool primary school at Cornelis van Ramshorstlaan 3 in Nijkerk. Because we are housed in the school building, children simply walk from their classroom to our group room—no travelling required. We care for up to 24 children in one mixed-age group, allowing younger and older primary-school pupils to play, learn and discover together. Our approach is built on structure, routine and freedom of choice, following the 2024 pedagogical plan written specifically for this location. After school we start with a shared moment: a piece of fruit, something to drink and a quick chat about the day. Then each child decides what to do—build with Lego, craft, play table-tennis in the gym or run around the playground. We make full use of the school’s facilities: a spacious gym, a safe playground and classrooms that we turn into creative workshops. During school holidays we run a varied programme with themes such as ‘Nature Explorers’ or ‘Build Your Own City’. We spend more time outdoors, make short trips in the neighbourhood and invite parents to join in. Our Christian identity means we want every child to feel valued; everyone is welcome, regardless of background or beliefs. In short, at BSO 't Klimrek children have the space to be themselves, make friends and enjoy their afternoon until they are picked up.
