BSO Schommelschip

BSO ’t Schommelschip is a welcoming after-school care centre in the heart of Moerkapelle, located next to the community centre Op Moer at Raadhuisstraat 40a. We provide care for up to 24 children aged 4 to 13 who attend OBS Keizersschool or Christelijke basisschool Rehoboth. Our BSO is open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from school dismissal until 6.30 p.m. Wednesday and Friday care can be arranged as soon as there is sufficient demand. After school our youngest children are collected from their classroom, while the older ones walk up by themselves. Every afternoon starts with a moment to unwind: chatting about the school day and sharing fresh fruit and water or tea. Children then decide whether to join the planned activity or choose something else. Themes and activities are designed together with the children, giving every talent and interest room to flourish. The room we use is the toddler space of ’t Hobbelpaard during the day, but in the afternoon it is transformed into an environment perfectly suited to older children: a comfy sofa for chilling out, various play corners, a hallway for building projects and a cupboard bursting with craft supplies. Our large outdoor playground with play equipment and a spacious sandpit invites running, climbing and romping. During school holidays we offer a special holiday programme with fun outings and activities. As we are still a young location, holiday care currently takes place at another site for the time being. We work on a small, personal scale: every child is welcome and given the space to grow at their own pace. Together we create a safe, warm place where having fun and meeting each other are at the heart of everything we do.
