BSO Oranje

BSO Oranje is part of IRIS Kindcentrum Oranje, located at Burgemeester van Vleutenstraat 10 in the village of Zalk. Our after-school care is literally and figuratively under one roof with Oranjeschool. We provide care for up to 22 children aged 4 to 12 years, on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 14:15 to 18:30. During school holidays we are also open and organise a varied holiday programme. Our pedagogical vision is built on love and commitment, rooted in Christian values. We believe every child has unique talents and we provide a rich environment focused on enjoyment, talent development and achievement. We work in a child-centred way: we observe, listen and tailor activities to what the child needs. Together with the school, we ensure a continuous developmental line and a familiar environment. The children use the school playground and playroom. We collaborate with local associations, such as the brass band that provides music lessons. We regularly organise trips in and around the village. Creative activities, sports and games, nature experiences and music are part of our regular programme. We believe it is important that children feel safe and valued. There is a strong focus on social skills, independence and resilience. We create house rules together and annually address themes such as bullying. Parents are actively involved through parent meetings, the parent committee and digital communication. We work with permanent childcare staff who are familiar to the children and parents. Our BSO is small-scale, ensuring lots of personal attention and a homely atmosphere. We offer children a familiar place to play, relax and grow after school.
