bso Op Ontdekking

Welcome to bso Op Ontdekking, our small-scale after-school care in the heart of Sint Maarten. We are located at Lijsterbesweg 1, right next to primary school De Zwerm, with which we work closely. Since 29 April 2024 we are licensed for a maximum of 22 children aged 4 to 12 in a homely, familiar setting. Our site is temporarily housed in a cosy family home next to the village hall. This central spot means your child reaches us within minutes after school and immediately feels at home. The rooms are laid out like a living room: a comfy corner to relax, a table for crafts or games, a kitchen where we occasionally cook together, and a garden where we can run, play table tennis or just enjoy being outside. We follow SKRS’ pedagogical policy, centred on “a safe voyage of discovery in a homely atmosphere”. Children are free to choose what they want to do. One day they dive into a creative craft project, the next they organise a football match or build a hut in the garden. Our regular pedagogical staff Marja and Linda are on site every day. Marja brings years of experience in day-care and after-school groups plus a healthy sense of humour; Linda specialises in guiding play and movement and makes sure every child feels seen. We collect the children daily from De Zwerm and work closely with the teachers. This means short lines, familiar faces and a smooth transition from school to care. Parents arrange care and holiday days easily via our parent app; swapping or requesting an extra session is possible up to three months after illness or holiday, subject to availability. In short, bso Op Ontdekking is a place where your child can relax, play and grow after school in a familiar environment with regular faces and plenty of room for personal initiative.
