Casca BSO Mambo C

Welcome to Casca BSO Mambo 8+ at Van der Waalslaan 33A in the heart of Heemstede’s Geleerdenbuurt. We are the after-school care centre for children aged 8 to 12 who need both relaxation and challenge after a busy school day. Our bright, spacious location is only a stone’s throw from primary schools De Ark and De Evenaar; after classes the children simply cross the playground and walk straight in. With a maximum of 28 places we work in a close-knit, horizontal group where everyone knows each other. At Mambo 8+ fun and relaxation come first, yet we also offer plenty of room to explore the world. Every day our experienced and permanent pedagogical staff prepare a varied programme: we organise sports tournaments on the school yard, go on treasure hunts in the Groenendaal woods, work in our own vegetable garden, bake fresh pizzas in De Ark’s kitchen, make music together or create the most beautiful crafts. During holidays the fun is extra special: we plan trips to the petting farm, the woods or the local supermarket, where the children buy local produce for our healthy meals. Healthy food is important to us. Following the ‘Wheel of Five’ we serve whole-wheat crackers with cheese, raw vegetables and apple syrup in the afternoons, and fresh fruit is always available. Drinks are included. We take each child’s needs into account: one day a child chooses an exciting sports game, the next day he or she quietly reads a book on the sofa. Location manager Yvonne Pronk and her team know every child and tailor activities to what is needed. Parents stay involved through our handy Parent App. Here we share photos, messages and important announcements; swapping days or booking extra days is done with one tap. We are closed three weeks per year (between Christmas and New Year and the middle two weeks of the summer holiday) and on regular days we close at 18:00, with an extended-care option until 18:30.
