BSO Kinderopvang Ithaka Locatie de Toermalijn is located at Vrije School De Toermalijn on Abellalaan 74 in Hillegom. We provide after-school care, holiday care and study day care for children attending this free school. Our opening hours are fully aligned with the school hours, holidays and study days of De Toermalijn. We work from an anthroposophical pedagogical approach. This means we put the child at the center and connect with his or her development. There is peace and regularity in the daily rhythm, we experience the rhythm of the seasons and annual festivals together. We follow each child in their development and offer a homely atmosphere where children can be themselves. Our spaces are furnished with natural materials and play materials that stimulate the imagination. We marvel and have respect for people, the environment and natural materials. In our room we have created a cozy living room atmosphere with a kitchen, a nice couch and fun play materials. Together we create a 'second home', where every child feels seen. This safe and familiar environment offers children the opportunity to relax after a school day. Children can play outside on the nice playgrounds of the school or do crafts, play and cook when the weather is less nice. We use the hall in the school for extra activities. Our food is exclusively organic-biodynamic. We prepare a healthy lunch together with the children. Each afternoon a maximum of 20 children can come under the care of two pedagogical staff members. During school holidays we are open from 08:00 to 18:30 and we make fun trips. We offer after-school care on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 14:15 to 18:30.
