BSO Hoera Buggenum

BSO Hoera Buggenum is a welcoming after-school care centre located on the grounds of OBS Buggenum at Berikstraat 13 in Buggenum. We provide care for up to 22 children aged 4 to 13. Our location has been officially registered in the National Childcare Register since 1 August 2024. We are open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, offering both before-school care (VSO) from 07:30 to 08:30 and after-school care (NSO). During VSO children can gently start the day with a quiet activity of their choice—building, colouring or a game. Our pedagogical staff member walks the younger children to class and liaises with teachers when necessary. After school we collect the infants and the older children make their own way to our room. We begin with a shared meal and then offer activities built around five set themes each year. Every theme covers six developmental domains we focus on: technology & science, sports & play, culture & expression, creativity, nutrition and nature. Children decide for themselves whether to join in and actively help plan the programme through DoenKids. During school holidays and study days we may, if numbers are low, join another Hoera location in Haelen or Heythuysen to provide a wider range of activities. Parents are informed in good time via the Hoera parent portal about the exact location and programme. Our pedagogical worker also works part-time as a teaching assistant at OBS Buggenum, giving children and parents a familiar face and strengthening the link between childcare and education. Together with parents, the school and the local community we ensure every child feels safe, happy and challenged at BSO Hoera Buggenum.
