BSO Hasseltse Poorten

Welcome to BSO Hasseltse Poorten, a warm and small-scale after-school care located right inside the Hasseltse Poorten primary school at Hasseltstraat 198 in Tilburg. We provide care for up to 11–14 children per group, creating a cosy and familiar atmosphere. Our pedagogical staff collect younger children from their classroom after school, while older children make their own way to our space. Our setting occupies the historic school building of Hasseltse Poorten—the oldest school building in Tilburg—and we use every corner of it: the playroom, the playground, the creative attic studio and our very own discovery garden. Nestled between the church and the school, this garden offers plenty of room to climb, play football, experiment with water and sand or hunt for insects. When the weather is poor we head to the gym for climbing, jumping and ball games. We work with themes and actively involve the children in planning activities. One day they might host a self-made tea party, the next they cook together or decide which museum to visit during the holidays. Regular activities include outdoor play in the neighbourhood, creative projects in the studio, joint cooking sessions and relaxing in our chill corner with beanbags and books. During school holidays and teacher training days we team up with BSO Tierentijn on Pastoriestraat, ensuring a full day of fun from 7.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Because we are part of the Hasseltse Poorten school community, every step feels like a natural continuation for the children.
