Grosthuizer

BSO Grosthuizer is a brand-new after-school care facility in the heart of Avenhorn. Since 1 November 2024 we have been welcoming up to 24 children aged 4 to 12. Our address is Grosthuizen 74, 1633 EP Avenhorn, housed in a charming building with a beautiful natural garden. This garden is a key part of our daily programme and gives children the space to play freely, explore and grow in a safe, green environment. We are open on school days from 7.30 a.m. to 8.30 a.m. and from 2.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. These hours fit seamlessly with the timetable of De Grosthuizerschool, which is within walking distance. Our pedagogical staff collect the children after school and accompany them to the BSO, where a warm and familiar atmosphere awaits. We work with small groups, ensuring plenty of personal attention for every child. At BSO Grosthuizer, natural play is central. In our garden children can build huts, study insects, plant vegetables and flowers or simply romp around. We believe that being outdoors and connecting with nature are essential for children’s development. Inside we also offer quiet corners for reading, crafts or board games. Our rooms are bright and homely, helping children feel at ease quickly. We work closely with parents and De Grosthuizerschool to tailor care as closely as possible to each child’s needs. Parents are always welcome to drop in for a chat or to join in activities. At BSO Grosthuizer we believe it is important for children to feel safe, seen and valued. We provide a place where they can be themselves and where they are happy to come.
