BSO Fontein

BSO Fontein is located on the ground floor of primary school De Fontein at Bronmos 2 in Houten. We provide small-scale after-school care for up to 42 children from grades 1 to 8. Our two base groups use a dedicated classroom and a shared toddler group room inside the school. The spaces are furnished in a homely, inviting way with a relaxation corner, play kitchen, car/build corner and plenty of materials for crafting or building, so children can unwind with a book or be active after school. We tailor our activity programme to the children’s interests. We regularly cook and bake in the school’s beautiful shared kitchen, use the gym and the renewed outdoor area for sports and movement activities, and run creative projects in the crafts room. On study days and during school holidays we collaborate with other BSO locations of Kind & Co Ludens, offering an extended holiday programme with themed activities and fun excursions in the area. We follow the Pedagogisch Hart approach of Kind & Co ludens. This means we do everything we can to make children feel safe, seen and valued. We give trust and space to explore, provide an inspiring environment and teach children to be considerate of one another. Being located inside the school allows us to make optimal use of the familiar surroundings and facilities such as the playground, gym and kitchen, making the transition from school to after-school care seamless for children.
