BSO de Zonnebloem Egstraat

BSO de Zonnebloem Egstraat is located in the Vrije School Helianthus building at Egstraat 20 in Heerlen. We provide after-school care for up to 41 children aged 4 to 12 years. Our BSO is open every weekday from 13:00 to 18:00, and we also offer before-school care from 07:30 to 08:15. We work with mixed-age groups where children of different ages play and learn together. This setup aligns with our vision of creating a homely environment where children inspire each other: younger children learn from the older ones, while older children develop a sense of responsibility by guiding the younger ones. The maximum group size per session is 15 children, ensuring sufficient personal attention. Our pedagogical approach is inspired by anthroposophical principles. We strive for balanced development in thinking, feeling, and willing. The afternoon follows a calm rhythm with space for relaxation after a school day, as well as challenging activities. We use sustainable and natural materials and pay attention to the seasons and annual celebrations. Children can freely develop socially, cognitively, creatively, motorically, and practically with us. We offer a safe, loving, and homely environment where children can discover who they are and what they can do from their own world of experience.
