BSO de Wingerd

BSO de Wingerd is located inside primary school De Wingerd at Kroonkruid 107a, Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. From 6 January 2025 we provide both before- and after-school care for children aged 4 to 13. The setting is ideal: next to a park with basketball and football pitches and playgrounds within walking distance. When lessons end, the children dash onto the large school playground to let off steam. Indoors we use the playroom and the upper-grade instruction room; both spaces are rearranged after school to create plenty of room for play and relaxation. We believe children should be in charge of their own free time. Together with the children we design weekly activities that are so varied every developmental area is covered: cooking, crafts, sports and games, or simply doing nothing. The children have a say in the programme and decide for themselves whether to join in or choose something else. At set times fruit and a cracker are served; if something tasty has been prepared during a cooking activity we enjoy it just before pick-up time. During school holidays and study days BSO de Wingerd is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. We then work with a separate holiday contract and a festive holiday programme packed with fun outings and activities. Children from our second location on Beethovenlaan are brought to Kroonkruid by the BSO bus, so that all the children can play together. In this way we create one close-knit BSO community where everyone is welcome and quickly feels at home.
