BSO De Vlindertuin

Welcome to BSO De Vlindertuin, part of Stichting Kinderopvang de Vlindertuin, located at Ketelboetershoek 19 in Apeldoorn. Our motto is “Great by staying small”, and you will notice it immediately: we offer intentionally small-scale after-school care for a maximum of 9 children per day. Thanks to this limited size every child receives plenty of space and personal attention; our pedagogical staff know each child and parent personally and communication is short, clear and warm. Our BSO is situated on the attic floor of our characteristic building. This dedicated BSO room is furnished as a cosy living room where children can play, craft, build, chill or simply do nothing after school. We use a horizontal group structure: children aged 4 to 12 are together, yet they can retreat to the quiet ‘Vlinderhoek’ whenever they want some time alone. This corner borders the toddler group and can be closed off with a stair gate, so younger children can play safely while older children move around freely. We collect the children from school ourselves using our own cars. At the moment we pick up from Daltonschool de Horst and PCBO de Kring. The ride home is a cheerful start to the afternoon: chatting in the car, then joining the group. Back at De Vlindertuin a drink is waiting and children can choose: join the fixed daily rhythm or decide on something else. Because, in our view, children already have to do so much at school; with us they are allowed to just be children. Besides the regular afternoon activities we regularly organise outings and parties. Think of a trip to the playground, a mud day, a summer festival or building huts in the woods together. During holiday weeks we shift up a gear: we offer holiday care where the whole day is dedicated to play, relaxation and adventure. Even then the group remains small, so we can really do something special. In short, at BSO De Vlindertuin your child finds a familiar second home where personal attention, peace and room for individual choices are central.
