BSO de Rozenpoort

BSO de Rozenpoort is a small-scale after-school care centre for up to 29 children aged 4 to 12. We are located in the atmospheric Broederhuis of Vrije School Helianthus at Kerkraderweg 9 in Heerlen. Under the umbrella of Stichting Istia, we provide care rooted in anthroposophical pedagogy, paying close attention to each child’s unique developmental path through rhythm, wonder and careful observation. Our rooms radiate a warm, homely atmosphere where children feel safe and free. We use natural materials and colours that calm the senses. The meals we serve are, whenever possible, organic or biodynamic—fresh and prepared with love. In this way we create an environment that feels like an extension of home. Children from Vrije School Helianthus and from other primary schools in Heerlen are warmly welcome. After school they can unwind, play, craft or take part in quiet activities that meet their inner needs. We keep the groups small so there is room for personal attention and genuine encounters. BSO de Rozenpoort works closely with parents and the school to provide a continuous line in upbringing. We communicate openly and transparently so parents always know how their child’s day has been. Together we give children a safe place to grow, play and be themselves.
