BSO De Korendrager

BSO De Korendrager is the after-school care facility within Integraal Kind Centrum (IKC) De Korendrager, located on the historic Bolwerk in the centre of Franeker. We provide out-of-school care for up to 40 children aged 4 to 12 in a recently renovated, bright and sustainable building that is shared with the primary school and pre-school groups. After the school day ends, children simply walk to our BSO area and continue their afternoon in a familiar, safe and welcoming environment. Our educational approach is rooted in Christian values such as trust, connection and personal responsibility. We share Bible stories with the children, yet we warmly welcome families from all backgrounds. Together we create a respectful community where every child is valued and supported. Our enthusiastic team of pedagogical staff organises a varied programme that includes sports and games, music, creative workshops and reading activities in partnership with the on-site library. We regularly take the children on local excursions to explore Franeker’s rich cultural and natural surroundings. BSO De Korendrager is part of CBO Noardwest Fryslân and implements the KiVa programme, which promotes social safety and positive group dynamics. Parents may be eligible for childcare allowance and can use the online calculator on our website to estimate their personal contribution.
