BSO De Kinderkei Steggerda

BSO De Kinderkei Steggerda is located in a quiet, green area at Hendrik Deddenstraat 6 in Steggerda. We provide after-school care for up to 40 children aged 4 to 12. Our location has two separate BSO groups: De Zeesterren for children aged 4 to 7 and De Orka’s for children aged 7 to 12. Both groups have their own indoor space and a large outdoor playground with a football field, climbing frames, swings, a sandbox and a basketball hoop. We believe being outdoors and physical activity are very important. Whenever the weather allows, we go outside: we walk through the forest, look for mushrooms, observe animals and learn about everything that can be found in nature. We also regularly visit our own covered play paradise, the Kinderkei-Jungle, where children can let off steam completely. In addition, we organize fun excursions, for example to playgrounds, museums or the petting zoo. Our pedagogical staff work with themes that connect to the children's world of experience. Think of themes such as 'autumn', 'traffic' or 'climate'. We do crafts, read books and play games that fit the theme. This way children learn new things in a playful way and develop their creativity and social skills. We strive for flexible childcare. Our regular opening hours are from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, but for a small fee parents can also use early care from 7:00 AM or extended care until 6:30 PM. We pick up children from the primary schools in Steggerda and De Blesse, so parents have no extra travel time or transport costs. In short, at BSO De Kinderkei Steggerda children find a safe, challenging place where they can play, discover and relax after school under the guidance of a permanent, enthusiastic team.
