BSO de Boerderij

BSO de Boerderij is located at Oosterstraat 66 in Stadskanaal. We provide after-school care for 60 children aged 4 to 12. Our centre has three age-based groups: De Hooizolder (4-6 years), De Deel (5-8 years) and De Hilt (7-11 years). Qualified staff collect children daily from nearby schools. Our large outdoor area is the heart of BSO. Children can play football, swing, build dens or cook together in the outdoor kitchen. We use fresh vegetables and fruit from our own garden and our chickens provide fresh eggs every day. Animals are important to us: children learn to care for rabbits, chickens and our two friendly goats. Our approach is inspired by Emmi Pikler and Reggio Emilia. We provide structure and safety through fixed group arrangements and clear agreements. At the same time, we give children space to contribute their own ideas. During holidays we organise a festive programme with nature excursions, craft projects and sports challenges. Together with the children, we come up with new activities every holiday. We believe personal attention is important. Our qualified childcare staff are ready to listen and think along. BSO de Boerderij is a place where children can be themselves and enjoy playing after a busy school day.
