BSO De Bezige Bijtjes, 't Bijendomein

Welcome to BSO ’t Bijendomein, our second after-school care location in Oploo. We are located at Van Steenhuijsstraat 35B, right next to the primary school, so children can walk straight to us after class. We provide care for up to thirty children aged 4 to 12. After a busy school day we believe it is important that children can first relax. We therefore start with a quiet moment at the table: a cracker and something to drink, a chat with friends and then free play. Our space is set up with different corners where children can choose what they want to do. Building, crafting, board games or simply running around outside; everything is allowed. We have clear agreements: toys are tidied up before starting something new, you let us know if you want to go outside and you clear your own cup and plate after eating. In this way children learn responsibility while still having all the freedom to shape their own afternoon. Around 4 p.m. we sit down again for fruit and a biscuit. After that there is plenty of time until 6 p.m. for free play or finishing an activity. We work with fixed pedagogical staff who know the children well and provide a familiar face. Short lines of communication with parents are important to us; we note any special details in the hand-over book so that everyone stays informed. BSO ’t Bijendomein is officially registered under LRK number 304813436, allowing parents to apply for childcare allowance.
