Achthoek

BSO Achthoek is located in the Purmer-Noord district at Hoefsmidhof 2 in Purmerend. We are an after-school care facility operated by Stichting Kinderopvang Purmerend, offering both before- and after-school care for children aged 4 to 12. Our doors open at 07:00, giving parents a calm start to their workday while children wake up at their own pace. We share breakfast and begin the morning with activities that match each child’s mood and needs. Before classes start, we walk the children to their classrooms so they are on time for the first lesson. After school we pick up children from De Toermalijn (ecumenical primary school) and Noorderlicht (public primary school). Around 15:00 a healthy snack is served—think vegetables, fruit or a cracker with toppings. Children then choose their own adventure: cooking together, creating art or playing outside in our playground. We work with three fixed base groups, each led by familiar pedagogical staff who know every child well. This allows us to tailor activities to each child’s world of experience. During school holidays we are open Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 18:30. We turn those weeks into a celebration with special workshops run by our own team or external experts—cooking, sports, creative projects and more.
