Bijls Buiten

Welcome to BSO Bijls Buiten, our small-scale after-school care located on the Oudtbijlenburgh estate at Oudtburghweg 5 in Bergen (NH). We provide care for children aged 4 to 13 years on a unique 10-hectare site. In spring 2009 we opened two new buildings: one for the after-school club and a converted hay barn where children can play and where our sheep and lambs stay in spring. Children are allowed to help care for and pet the animals in a safe way. Throughout the year the children explore what grows in our vegetable garden and in autumn they pick fruit from the orchard to make all kinds of tasty treats. Contact with nature is both fun and educational for them. Inside, Bijls Buiten is spacious. Besides the cosy living kitchen we have two playrooms where children can build, craft or simply enjoy free play. Small scale, personal attention and lots of time outdoors are our key ingredients.
