Welcome to BSO Berend Botje Edam – Volendam, our main location at Keetzijde 18a in Edam. We are part of Kinderdagverblijf Berend Botje Edam – Volendam B.V., a trusted childcare organization that has been active in the region for many years. Our main location offers after-school care for up to 37 children aged 4 to 12. We have been officially registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK) under number 279730068 since 2 January 2010. Our BSO is specifically designed for primary school children. We provide care before school (pre-school care), after school (after-school care), on study days and during school holidays. We pick up children from various primary schools in Edam and the surrounding area, so parents can use our childcare flexibly and without worry. Our pedagogical staff are ready every day to give children a safe, challenging and enjoyable time. We believe it is important that children can develop at their own pace and in their own way. That is why we offer a wide range of activities tailored to the children's interests. We regularly organize fun outings, such as a visit to the cinema. During the autumn holidays, our BSO children went to see the film 'Berend Botje – The Mystery of the Egg' in Hoorn and Purmerend. The children were taken to the cinema by BSO bus or coach, received popcorn and a drink, and were even allowed to have their picture taken with the lead actors afterwards. These kinds of outings create unforgettable experiences and strengthen group bonding. Our main location on Keetzijde has recently been thoroughly made more sustainable. In 2023 and 2024, the building was fitted with a new roof, sun protection film, improved insulation and energy-efficient LED lighting. Solar panels have also been installed. This sustainability contributes to a healthy indoor climate and a better future for our children. The rooms are fresh and invitingly furnished, so that children quickly feel at home.
