BSO Aquamarijn

Welcome to BSO Aquamarijn, located at Graslaan 8 in Almelo. We are an after-school care facility for children aged 4 to 12, both with and without additional support needs. Our site can accommodate up to 60 children, split into small-scale groups of up to 10 children who require extra guidance and one regular group of up to 13 children. Occasionally we merge groups so that children can socialise across ages and strengthen their social skills. Our work is rooted in Christian values, which we share with love and care. Every afternoon begins with a shared moment: around half past four we sit together on the sofa for a cracker and a drink. Afterwards children can play freely or take part in activities such as sports and games, dance, drama, creative workshops, cooking and nature experiences. Our staff come from diverse backgrounds and are happy to share their talents. Our outdoor area is specially designed to encourage children to move and play outside. We also make regular trips: we go to the skate park, go fishing, visit playgrounds, walk and cycle. During holidays we run themed programmes covering sports and play skills, visual and musical activities, language and drama, audiovisual projects, cooking and nature. Saturday care is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Before school we provide morning care from 7 a.m. to 8.30 a.m. and then take the children to school. After school we are open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on short days and from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on long days. Flexible care is possible on the basis of a pre-submitted schedule or on an ad-hoc basis, subject to availability. We work closely with schools and parents to ensure every handover is warm and smooth.
