BSO Bouwman

BSO Bouwman is part of IRIS Kindcentrum Bouwman, located at Wilhelminalaan 20 in Kampen. We provide after-school care for up to 33 children aged 4 to 12. The after-school programme is housed in the same building as the primary school, allowing children to stay in a familiar environment after lessons end. Our work is rooted in a Christian identity: inspired by the love we know through Jesus Christ, we are committed to the well-being of every child, their parents and each other. Our qualified pedagogical staff create a joyful setting every day and look for the unique talents in every child. Children are free to choose their own activities within a rich environment. Outdoors they can play on concrete tiles, a climbing frame and a sandpit, all inspected annually for safety. We also regularly visit the nearby Cruyff Court, playground, nature play area and children’s farm. Inside, several rooms are freely accessible. We do not apply a strict ‘four-eyes principle’; instead, staff move around and school colleagues are often nearby. This preserves the child’s freedom while maintaining safety. During school holidays and study days we run holiday care and, when numbers allow, cooperate with the 0-4 childcare group. Our daily schedule starts right after school. Children have time to share how their day went, then choose from sports, games, crafts, outdoor play or simply relaxing with a book. We encourage children to make their own choices and pursue what makes them happy. Parents stay in touch through the online platform Social Schools and are always welcome to drop by for a chat.
