BSO Bolderburen, locatie de Zonnewende

BSO Bolderburen, location De Zonnewende is situated inside Vrije School De Zonnewende at Valckstraat 32 in Zutphen. We provide after-school care based on anthroposophical principles for children aged 4 to 12 who attend this school. The groups are organised vertically; children of different ages share one space that we have furnished as a cosy living room. After school we always start outside. Our pedagogical staff serve a healthy snack and drink and invite the children to play freely or join an activity. We have a large garden with climbing frames, go-karts, a sandpit and plenty of materials for building huts or climbing and scrambling. When the weather allows, we also make trips to the forest or other play areas nearby. Inside, free play is central. The room is quietly arranged with natural materials and corners where children can do crafts, build, read or simply sit on the sofa with tea and a biscuit. We regularly offer cooking activities in our kitchen; baking bread or making soup together is all part of the experience. The daily rhythm gives the children structure: first a moment to unwind, then play or participate, and finally tidy up and close the day. We work from an anthroposophical view of the human being. This means we look at what each child needs in their development. Therefore, the atmosphere at the after-school care seamlessly matches the atmosphere at school, so that children experience school and care as one whole. Our pedagogical staff are ready with attention and time for every child, so that the afternoon really becomes a moment of development and relaxation. At the moment we have a waiting list and cannot place children from other schools. For children of Vrije School De Zonnewende we provide care on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday after school and on Wednesday afternoon. During school holidays we organise holiday care at our three Zutphen locations.
