Boerderij de Boterbloem, het Wespennest

Welcome to Het Wespennest, our after-school care group at Boerderij de Boterbloem located at Karel Doormanweg 58 in Tollebeek. We provide after-school care for up to 20 children aged 4 to 7 years in a unique farm environment. Our farm is a place where children can experience a lot and have plenty of space to play. Children can play outside in the playground, on the go-kart track or on the grass field with panna cage. We have a large animal meadow where we take care of chickens, turkeys, ponies, cows, sheep and donkeys together. There is even the opportunity to go horseback riding with guidance. When the weather is bad, we can have fun in the spacious animal shelter. We offer both a fixed structure and the necessary variety. Together with the children we take care of the animals, work in the vegetable garden and there is opportunity for free play, crafts, cooking and games. Children are allowed to decide for themselves what they want to do. We encourage them to participate in the offered activities, but they can also choose to play outside or inside with friends. Our priority is a safe and pleasant atmosphere. Children should feel at home so they can do activities that match their interests and abilities. When the child feels safe and has confidence, it dares to develop. We find good communication between parents and group leaders important, which is why each child has had a fixed mentor as a permanent contact person since January 2018. We are open every weekday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. We arrange transportation from schools in Tollebeek and Nagele to our after-school care. During holidays and study days, parents arrange their own transportation.
