Welcome to BSO Berend Botje Hoorn-Centrum, part of the Berend Botje childcare organisation located at Lambert Meliszweg 1 in Hoorn. Our bright, colourful building sits right next to the IJsselmeer lake and within walking distance of the city beach, allowing us to enjoy fresh air and a spacious natural play environment every day. Our after-school care accommodates 50 children aged 4 to 12. We operate horizontal groups so that activities are perfectly tailored to each child’s age and developmental stage. After school we collect the children from various nearby primary schools and bring them to our centre, where a warm meal and healthy snacks are waiting. Our pedagogical approach is built on the “Vreedzaam” (Peaceful) programme: we teach children to understand emotions, practise mindfulness and yoga, and focus strongly on social skills. Our large garden with natural play areas, water and sand elements, vegetable patch and sports field invites exploration and movement. In addition, we offer creative workshops, cooking & baking, music, sports and games, and regular excursions. In short, at BSO Berend Botje Hoorn-Centrum fun, calm and development go hand in hand. We provide your child with a safe second home where they can unwind after school and enjoy new adventures.
