Kindcentrum 't Hieker Nust

Kindcentrum 't Hieker Nust is an Integral Child Centre (IKC) located in the heart of the village of Hijken in Drenthe. We offer both education and childcare under one roof, including after-school care (BSO) for children aged 4 to 12. Our motto is: “From the warm nest to the wide world – with self-confidence!” Our BSO is located in the same building as the primary school and works closely with the education team. We offer a continuous development line from age 4 to 12, aligning themes, teaching methods, and activities with what children learn during the school day. This ensures uninterrupted development and a familiar environment throughout the day. After school, children can join us for rest, play, and activities. We offer care before school, after school, and during school holidays – always in consultation and depending on group availability. All care takes place within the school building, so children don’t need to travel elsewhere. We work from the core values of equality, freedom, and encounter. Every child is welcome and encouraged to be themselves. We support curiosity, responsibility, and ownership. Together, we learn from and with each other in a safe and structured environment where everyone feels at home. Parents stay informed through the KidsAdmin parent portal and the Parro app, which provide updates on daily activities and allow easy communication for changes or absences. We also invite parents to be involved in the IKC, whether by helping with activities or participating in conversations about their child’s development.
