BSO Balk

Welcome to BSO Balk, our after-school care located in the heart of Balk. We are situated in the school building at Siemen de Jongstrjitte 4, sharing the location with primary schools It Hazzeleger and Ludgerus. This makes the transition from school to after-school care smooth and familiar for children. At SKIK Kinderopvang, attention, growth and enjoyment are our core values. We believe every child is unique and develops at their own pace. Our pedagogical staff Nadine and Rozina are available Monday through Thursday afternoons to provide children aged 4 to 12 with a safe and challenging environment after school. We work with mixed-age groups where children of different ages play and learn together. Our program is diverse and engaging. We organize thematic activities that connect with children's world of experience. Sports and games are daily recurring elements, as we believe physical activity is essential for healthy development. Additionally, we regularly make trips to nature, go swimming, and offer creative workshops such as arts and crafts. We work closely with nearby primary schools. After school, children are picked up by our pedagogical staff and walk together to the after-school care room. For parents, this means convenience and peace of mind: no worries about pick-up and drop-off moments. During after-school care, the development of social skills is central. Children learn to consider others, resolve conflicts, and cooperate. We provide healthy snacks and drinks and take dietary requirements into account. Frisian language and culture enrich our program: we believe it's important for children to also become acquainted with the Frisian language and traditions. Our location accommodates up to 33 children and has been registered in the National Childcare Register since August 17, 2020. We operate according to SKIK's pedagogical policy, where we encourage children to become independent, discover their talents, and enjoy learning and playing.
