Welcome to BSO "Eigenwijs", the after-school care programme of Kindercentrum Babbel located at Meester Nennstiehlweg 8 in De Wilp. We provide out-of-school care for primary-school children aged 4 to 12. Our permanent team of pedagogical staff – Karin Boonstra-Osinga (co-ordinator), Allet Veenstra, Klaas Algra, Laura Roffel and Lianne Dijkstra – welcomes the children every day. We pick children up from schools in De Wilp, Marum, Bakkeveen and Frieschepalen. After a joint snack and drink, children decide for themselves how they want to spend the afternoon. We consciously work on themes such as independence, hygiene, dealing with others and with the spaces. Outdoor play is part of the programme, as is homework support and exploring personal interests. Each child is assigned a fixed mentor. The mentor is the first point of contact for parents and child and holds at least one personal conversation each year. Practical matters – from deviating school times to extra holiday care – can easily be communicated by parents through our parent portal Kidsadmin, WhatsApp or by phone (06-17149887). Clear agreements are important to us. Together with parents and school we form a triangle around the child. Our parent committee actively contributes to the development of the BSO. In short, at BSO Eigenwijs children have the space to be themselves, discover new things and learn to take responsibility within clear boundaries.
