BSO AKKRUM It Mienskar

BSO It Mienskar is located at Hopmanshôf 5 in the heart of Akkrum and is the place where children aged 4 to 12 meet, play and discover after school. We are part of Kids First Kinderopvang Noord-Nederland and provide care before and after school, on study days and during all school holidays. Our location has room for 44 children and has been registered in the National Childcare Register under number 146581210 since 2 January 2010. As a BinnensteBuiten (InsideOutside) location, we believe that everything that can be done indoors can also be done outdoors – and vice versa. That’s why we play outside every day in our large, green and challenging garden. Right next to our building is the Ravottuhveld: a natural playground with lots of greenery and a panna cage where children can climb, clamber, build, explore and just get wonderfully dirty. Here they learn to deal with risks, discover nature and build self-confidence through play. Our BSO consists of two groups: one for children aged 4 to 7 and an 8+ room where older children can play independently within clear agreements. Our pedagogical staff consciously respond to the changing needs of children: younger children especially want to play together and make friends, while older children want to explore the world more independently. We offer a safe, homely environment where every child can be themselves. We follow a bilingual policy: both Dutch and Frisian are used in our activities and conversations.
