Agrarische Kinderopvang ’t Heikantje B.V. is located at De Wolfsputten 6 in Aarle-Rixtel and provides after-school care for children aged 4 to 13. Our setting is a working farm surrounded by strawberry, leek, corn and asparagus fields. From the group rooms children can watch the farmer at work and experience what each season brings. We operate in vertical groups where children of different ages play and learn together. Respect for people, animals and nature is central. Our pedagogical staff guide the children in exploring the farm, caring for the animals in our children’s farmyard and discovering the outdoor area. We regularly organise outings to the forest, another farm or a playground; parents give permission for this during the intake interview. After-school care is open 52 weeks a year, Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:30. We are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays. For children who start school early or are collected late, care is available from 07:00 on request. Our site offers a large play meadow, a dedicated children’s farmyard and plenty of green space to play in. We believe it is important that children learn new things at their own pace and use the farm as a real learning environment. In this way they learn through play about animals, plants, the rhythm of the seasons and sustainability.
