Agrarische kinderopvang Het Kalfje

Agrarische kinderopvang Het Kalfje provides after-school care in a unique setting: a working farm at Hardenbergerweg 19a in Bergentheim. We welcome up to 25 children daily, aged 4 to 12. Our qualified pedagogical staff pick the children up from school and bring them to the farm, where they can stay until 6:00 p.m. Our programme centres around the cows, young stock and the natural outdoor play area. Every afternoon the children visit the barn with farmer Gert or ‘grandpa farmer’ to help with small tasks such as feeding and cleaning. In our specially designed outdoor space they can climb, build huts and explore the changing seasons. The natural environment stimulates imagination and motor development. We follow the agrarian green pedagogy of Verenigde Agrarische Kinderopvang. This means we offer calm, space and structure while involving the children in daily farm life. They learn where milk comes from, how plants grow and what it means to care for animals. This approach contributes to a healthy and natural upbringing. We are open Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. During school holidays and study days we remain open and provide a holiday programme with extra farm-related activities. We co-operate with primary schools in the region, including Reggekrummel in Giethmen, so we can collect children after school.
