Welcome to A. Bos t.h.o.d.n. Knutselkookclub, our cheerful cooking after-school care in the heart of Amsterdam East. We are located at Baron G.A. Tindalstraat 246, in the Sporenburg neighbourhood, where we welcome up to 17 children from grades 3 to 8 every day. Our focus is simple: everything revolves around two things children love—crafting and cooking. As our name suggests, we are the place where kids prepare their own dinner after school. No ready-made snacks, but real cooking with fresh ingredients. Think home-made pizzas, colourful salads or stews that fill the room with delicious aromas. In between, we grab brushes, clay and paint to create crafty projects that often tie in with the dish of the day—an edible flower, for example, or a personalised chef’s hat. We work in one vertical group: children aged 4 to 12 cook and craft together. Older kids teach the younger ones how to handle kitchen tools safely, while discovering new techniques themselves. Every Wednesday afternoon there is a fixed cooking club from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, but on other days you can simply drop by after school. We start with a shared snack and a short explanation of the day’s recipe, then get straight to work. Parties are an extra festive part of our programme. Birthdays are celebrated with themes such as pirate pizzas, princess cakes or unicorn cupcakes. Parents don’t need to bring anything; we arrange everything up to the decorated end result. During school holidays we also run fun day activities where, for example, we prepare a complete three-course menu or create our own cookbook. Feel free to drop by at Baron G.A.
